Apache Hop 2.13.0 is available

As a long-time contributor and supporter of the Apache Hop project, our team is happy to see this release come to life as the result of two months of focused development across 84 tickets by 8 contributors.

This release brings key enhancements, new features, and continued progress in making Apache Hop a powerful, flexible platform for building and orchestrating data workflows.

What’s new in Apache Hop 2.13.0?

Multiple GCP Storage locations

Apache Hop now supports connecting to multiple GCP Storage locations at once, ideal for organizations working across multiple GCP projects or regions. This makes cloud integration even more scalable.

MySQL Bulk Loader transform

Building on the existing MySQL Bulk Loader action, Apache Hop 2.13 introduces a dedicated transform for MySQL Bulk loading, giving data engineers the possibility to load large volumes of data into MySQL directly from within a pipeline.

Improved transform behavior

  • The Text File Input transform now supports newline characters within fields, improving parsing for complex text data.
  • Workflows benefit from more robust validation logic, a step forward in making design-time feedback faster and clearer.

A growing open source community

Apache Hop continues to grow, not only in features but in community. Since the 2.12 release in December, 2024, we’ve seen encouraging momentum across channels:

  • LinkedIn: 3,050 followers (+203)
  • Twitter/X: 973 followers (+17)
  • YouTube: 1,390 subscribers (+70)

None of this progress would be possible without the global community that contributes, tests, documents, and advocates for Apache Hop.
