In 2019, Bart Maertens and Hans Van Akelyen co-founded Apache Hop (Project Hop, before the project was accepted into the ASF Incubator) with Matt Casters.

Years of running Hop in production taught us what teams need once pipelines leave the developer's laptop. That's why we build Putki — the enterprise distribution of Apache Hop, with patch releases, observability and data governance, and enterprise support.
